On February 4, 2011, James founded the Propaganda Project, an open-source initiative to build a Web service that will enable people to identify and catalog instances of propaganda techniques used in mass media. The project has two goals:

  1. Pull back the curtain on propaganda so that it loses its persuasive effect.
  2. Influence the networks to eliminate propaganda from news-related programs.

The project is assembling a team to help design and develop the Web service so please contact him if you would like to be part of it.
